DIRECTOR AND PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Ralph has over thirty-five years of international oil and gas technical and management experience, working with a major international operator, smaller independents and with a global consulting company. He is an experienced non-executive director in the banking, aged care, and community transport sectors with Audit, Risk and Compliance committee experience.

In 1984, Ralph graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and First Class Honours and was the recipient of the Ian Langlands medal from The Institution of Engineers, Australia.  Following graduation,  he was employed by Esso Australia Ltd for over sixteen years. There,  he worked in Esso’s Gippsland and Cooper/Eromanga (Delhi Petroleum) operations, and Esso Malaysia’s operations in the South China Sea in a variety of roles covering the technical and commercial aspects of sub-surface and reservoir engineering and joint venture asset management. He  joined Novus Petroleum in 2000 and became Regional Manager for SE Asia and Australasia in 2001 prior to Novus’ takeover by Medco Energi in 2005. After a short period with Roc Oil Company in Sydney working on assets in China, Ralph moved to Singapore to join a start-up E&P, prior to consulting.

Ralph has an extensive understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of petroleum engineering, workovers, drilling, reservoir management and production operations. His experience includes technical, strategic and commercial evaluation of potential acquisitions, divestments, farm‑ins, exploration, reserves, field development and production enhancement opportunities and contracting. Geographical experience includes Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Thailand, North Sea, Texas, Louisiana, and California.

Ralph is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; a Chartered Professional Engineer; registered on the National Engineering Register and with the Register of Professional Engineers, Queensland; is a Life Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers; and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.

He was a non-executive Director and member of the audit and risk committees of Nexus Mutual (EECU Ltd), a credit union providing banking solutions for the ExxonMobil Community until its merger with Beyond Bank. Ralph previously served as Chairman of EECU. He is currently a non-executive director of Peninsula Village Ltd, and aged care facility provider and a member of the Management Committee and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee of Lower North Shore Community Transport Inc, a charity providing community transport services. He also volunteers on the Committee of the NSW/ACT Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Incorporated, as its Public Officer and Treasurer.
